For the RFP 2026-01 review committee
What's upgraded
This concept keeps Si View's green and blue identity, program categories and navigation. Here is what changes for residents and staff.
1Real text instead of words baked into images
- Today
- Headlines and event names are part of the photo file.
- In the concept
- Headlines are live HTML text over photos with a gradient scrim.
- Why it matters
- Screen readers, translation tools and search engines can read every word.
2One H1 per page with proper heading order
- Today
- Page headings are styled at about 15px, the same size as body text.
- In the concept
- Each page has one clear H1 and H2 and H3 in logical order at readable sizes.
- Why it matters
- People using assistive tech can scan and jump through pages quickly.
3Mobile-first navigation
- Today
- Deep menus are hard to use on a phone.
- In the concept
- A large tap target menu with accordions on mobile and a mega menu on desktop.
- Why it matters
- Families often check schedules and closures on a phone, on the way to a park or the pool.
4Carousel pause control
- Today
- Home page slides rotate automatically.
- In the concept
- Visible Pause and Play, arrow buttons, keyboard support and no auto-advance for reduced motion.
- Why it matters
- WCAG 2.2 requires a way to pause moving content, and it is kinder to anyone who reads slowly.
5Seasonal templates
- Today
- Pages are rebuilt by hand three times a year.
- In the concept
- Hero, headline, featured programs and accent color switch from one data file.
- Why it matters
- April, August and December refreshes take minutes, not days.
6Staff-editable pages in WordPress
- Today
- Content updates are made by an outside webmaster.
- In the concept
- Structured blocks for heroes, cards, schedules and alerts that staff edit directly.
- Why it matters
- Closures and schedule changes go live right away.
7Faster images
- Today
- Large image files load on every device.
- In the concept
- Modern formats, responsive sizes and lazy loading below the fold.
- Why it matters
- Pages load faster on rural and mobile connections.
8Google Analytics 4 and SEO metadata on every page
- Today
- Pages share one meta description, and no favicon or social sharing image is set.
- In the concept
- Title, description, social sharing image and favicon on every page, with GA4 reporting.
- Why it matters
- Better search results, better link previews and clear data on what residents use.
